Happy November!! Since November is the month of expressing gratitude, I’ve been looking for new and creative ways to show thanks this month. Whether that means stopping to help a stranger, taking a friend to lunch or just reflecting on our blessings for a moment each day, incorporating an act of gratitude into our routine each day can make such a huge difference in our level of stress and overall happiness.
One fun and easy way to get grateful this month is to follow The Glitter Guide’s 30 days of gratitude which I love and will be participating in! Follow along with me and use their hashtag #GGgratitude!
I also stumbled upon two adorable one-sentence journals I bought and will be using daily: The Happiness Project One-Sentence Journal & The Q&A A Day: 5-Year Journal. They are both 5 year journals that allow you to see how your wisdom and perspective evolve over the years. It’s so easy and so rewarding when you get to look back and recognize little accomplishments you may have forgotten or diluted over time.
The Q&A a Day Journal shows you what was going through your head each day—for five years of your life. Simply turn to today’s date, answer the question at the top of the page, and when you finish the journal, start over. As you return to the daily questions again over the years, you’ll notice how your answers change!
The Happiness Project One-Sentence Journal helps you make a fascinating and revealing time capsule of the next five years of your life. Simply turn to today’s date, reflect on the quote at the top of the page, and write just one sentence about something positive that happened that day. This daily ritual is highly do-able and provides a striking sense of accomplishment, and as the years go by you can see how your entries evolve.
How appropriate is today’s quote in The Happiness Project Journal?? “Look for ways to record the fleeting moments that make life sweet but that so easily vanish from memory. Expressing and recalling your feelings will amplify the effect of happy experiences.” That basically sums up this whole blog post doesn’t it? Expressing gratitude can be as simple as recognizing and documenting a happy thought or moment you have each day. If you’re an avid Instagrammer or love photography like I do, capturing moments and documenting a positive thought in your caption might be your way of expressing gratitude and sharing the beauty in the world around you. So simple, but much more impactful than I think we realize. Many times, I’ve posted something positive on Instagram like an inspirational quote with my reflection in the caption and someone will respond thanking me because that post really spoke to them and what they were going through that day or it was something they really needed to read at that moment. I believe those things happen for a reason so its important for us to share those thoughts or beautiful pictures.
What are some creative ways you’ll be expressing gratitude this November? Please share!
